Description
Frank Church receives an ivory statue of a donkey from Jimmy Hong, an Idaho Statesman article describes this event as follows: "At a dinner in his honor, given by Jimmy Hong, patriarch of the Chinese community in Pocatello, Church spoke out against the Idaho constitutional provision which discriminates against the voting rights of Americans of Oriental ancestry." Idaho Statesman, 10/16/1962, page 6.
