A crowd of people from nearby town of Arco waited for the explorers to emerge from the volcanic fields. Limbert's note: "The crowd watching for us as we came trailing out, a tired, dirty, unshaven, hard looking outfit. We were treated with wonderful hospitality by the people of Arco who even had their band serenade us as we sat and ate our first good clean cooked meal in weeks."
