Dear Senator Jordon:
We have, in Boise, a great need for some type of community
building which would provide meeting rooms and recreational
facilities for a great number of people. Some
time back, we did a comprehensive survey of junior high
and high school age youth in Boise, to find out what they
desired in the way of facilities in a community center
building. The information we received was turned over to
the Model Cities Office.
We have found, in our work with delinquent and pre-delinquent
youth in Boise, that there is a great need for a
community building that would provide a wide number of services
and meeting facilities. Therefore, we would like to
urge your support and consideration in assisting us to obtain
funds under the Neighborhood Facility Program of the
Department of Housing and Urban Development, so that the
proposed Fort Boise Community Center can be built here in
Boise. We feel that this center could be a valuable tool
to many of us engaged in youth programs, and we would
appreciate all the help you can give us in making this a
reality.

Sincerely yours, 7
