The Assembly Hall was one of the original buildings on the Boise Junior College campus, built by the Works Projects Administration (WPA) and completed in 1940. In the 1960s the college catalogs and campus maps designated it either as the Auditorium or Music Auditorium;beginning in the 1975-76 catalog it was designated the Music Building. In 1986 it was rededicated as the Hemingway Western Studies Center.
