Two members of the Boise Junior college faculty announced Saturday they have started a growth of mould they hope will eventually develop into penicillin. The two, Dr. J.B. Spulnik and Jacob Bauer, explained they are using the combined resources of the chemistry and bacteriology schools at the college to isolate the penicillin compound. The mould was reported maturing in incubators. In the meantime, the penicillin expected from Boston, Mass., to be used in treatment of Robert Turner, 14 Glenns Ferry youth suffering from burns, has not arrived. A Boise physician said he expected to the penicillin to arrive momentarily. It is being shipped her from the Evans’ Memorial hospital in Boston.
