Preliminary plans for several phases of the Junior College jamboree to be given Sept. 12 at the White City by all of the women’s organizations of Boise were checked over Friday afternoon at a meeting presided over by the chairman, Mrs. W.H. Simons. Mrs. Simons announced that next Friday, Aug. 14, a general meeting will be held at the Columbian club at which all women’s organizations of the city are asked to send representatives. There are 54 of these groups, not to mention innumerable small sewing or card clubs. All are expected to take part. Officers for the Jamboree, in addition to Mrs. W.H. Simons, are Mrs. J. Reno Numbers, secretary and Mrs. Will Simons, treasurer. Mrs. F.L. Finkea, president of the Columbian club, reported that the garden clubs of Boise will unite to sponsor a flower and shrub booth. The Columbian club will foster a white elephant booth with Mrs. A.G. Friedline in charge. Junior Columbian club will sell soft drinks, she reported. Mrs. F.M. Snyder reported that Ada county club women had been contacted and that the South Side Improvement club and the Golden Rod club will join forces to sponsor a food selling booth. They announced that Pomona Grange had endorsed the Jamboree and had left each grange to manage its own contribution as is the case at the county fair. Many will sell vegetables and fruit. Mrs. C.A. Purton gave details on last year’s collection of prizes for the card party of which she had charged. She also outlined the arrangements made last year for gathering of tables and chairs. She will assist again this year. Mrs. Frank King reported that the Business Women’s club will sponsor the dance in the Rainbow gardens. She is to act as chairman and Mrs. Eda Hettinger is her co chairman. Mrs. Laurene T. Cork reported that Manager T.B. Jackson of the Boise Water company had been contacted. He said that it all depends upon the weather whether the Natatorium is kept open after Labor Day, or not. The Jamboree committee will probably select an executive committee at the Aug. 14 meeting, it was decided.
