Hitler and his “friends” held a round-table discussion on the present European situation last night in the Boise junior college gym when members of the Engineers’ club presented their skit for homecoming stunt night which won first prize. Lyle Briggs took the part of Hitler; Charles Crowe, Mussolini; Dick Maule, Stalin; Bill Ritchey, Daladier; Tom Wilson, Poland; Chamberlain was portrayed by Ralph Frazier. Allen Campbell took the part of the munitions manufacturer. The United States was portrayed by Ivor Holiday and Congress by Betty Buck. Kathleen Ash was selected as the most beautiful “natural” girl and Ora Wildman was awarded a prize for having the best beard. Mrs. Ada Hatch and Miss Dale Whittemore were judges for the make-up, and C.B. McMath and Dr. Frances Haines selected the best beard. Judges for the best stunt were Reilly Atkinson, Mrs. Vera Horsfall and Mrs. Norman B. Adkinson. The discovery of an artificial heart, shown in a skit entitled “Springtime” was presented by the Pre-Medic club. Harold Alexander portrayed the doctor and Bob Monk his patient. The Associated Women gave the “Three Little Fishes,” enacted by Ginger Lien, Carol Thompson, Marie Pearson. Rachel Branson was the mama fishy and Marion Murphy was the whale. The Valkyries presented their version of “How Girls Play Football”. Eight members of the Knights presented “Tonight’s the Night.” A dramatization of changing from old to young, from ugly to handsome, and to most anything one desired. “Sadie Hawkins Day” took the spotlight while the “B” cubes, freshmen women’s organization, enacted the skit. Taking part were Ruth Funkner, Marjorie Ann Brunger, Mary Martin, Jackie Millar, Jane Schooler, Rita Weber, Harriet Westfall, Harriet Thomas, and Ellen Varkas. Thirteen members of the Junior college faculty presented the “Humane Organ,” directed by Miss Rosamond Salisbury. The Alumnus of B.J.C. gave a reading by George Taylor, president of the association. “What Price Sanity” an “example” of the meetings of the Forensic club was presented by the entire club. An informal sports dance will be held this evening in the Elks’ ballroom from 9 to 12 for all B.J.C. students and alumni. Bob Hays’ orchestra will provide the music. There will be no bids issued at the door.
