Tourney—With fourteen boys signed the B.J.C. fall tennis tournament will soon be under way at Julia Davis park. Drawings will be announced later said Gene Frazier, acting manager. Those who are already on the roll include Dick Olson, Tom Barber, Hershel Cummins, Jack Evans, Arthur Mink, John Pease, Roy MacGee, Jack Gilbert, Bill Rogers, Leland Harter, Glen Dehlin, John Faught and Gene Frazier. Election Set—October 7, will be the election day for the fall semester at Boise Junior college. Freshman and sophomore class officers, freshman representatives to the executive board and a student body treasurer are the officials to be chosen. Petitions will be issued by the executive board and must be returned with the adequate number of signatures by September 30. No student is permitted to hold more than one major and one minor office and sophomores must have an average grade of “C’ the preceding semester to be eligible. No eligibility requirements are necessary for freshmen. Forms Society—Boise Junior college students are meeting with the young business and professional men and women Sunday evening at the First Presbyterian church to organize a Christian Endeavor society for people above high school age. Outside speakers will be featured on most of the society’s programs. Women to Meet—The Associated Women of the Junior college will meet for the first time this year Wednesday noon in the auditorium. Officers will not be elected until after the freshman elections are held next week, at the women members of the executive board act as a nominating committee for the A.W. officers. Debate Squad—Seven students, most of them prominent of the high school debate team of a year or two ago, have signed up for Junior college debate. These are Gene Frazier, Arthur Mink, John Faught, Merle Wells, Willard Ashton, Eleanor Ray and Bill Faught. The question will not be decided until sometime in October, Bill Faught, manager stated.
